In addition to being posted here, Office of Inspector General positions are posted by the New Orleans Civil Service Department, regardless of actual openings, in order to populate registers (lists of qualified candidates). Civil Service pre-screens candidates to determine their qualifications for a position. The OIG must hire from Civil Service registers, but Civil Service postings do not constitute an actual opening at the OIG. Actual openings are posted below.
Procedures for applying for a position with the OIG includes two parts:
1. Complete the OIG Application. Email the completed form along with a resume and cover letter to email@example.com with the position(s) of interest in the subject line.
2. Complete the Civil Service Application for Examination and Personal History Form. These forms must be submitted to the Civil Department along with any additional documentation (transcripts, diplomas, Special Work History Forms, etc.).
